00:01:04:12Convert & compress

Convert.

The format it needs to be, not the one it came as.

On-device7 output formatsWorks offline

Somebody sends you an MKV that your editor won't open. Your camera writes MOV and the upload form wants MP4. A colleague needs the audio, not the picture. Convert exists for exactly that half-hour of your week: pick the file, pick what it should become, tap Convert.

There is no cloud queue and no upload bar, because the encoder is already in your hand. Convert drives your phone's own video hardware — the same silicon the camera app records with — so the work is hardware-accelerated wherever the device allows it. One set of settings means the same output on every platform we ship.

00:01:04:12How it runs

01

Reads more than it writes

Input: MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM and AVI, plus audio and image files. Output: MP4, MOV, MKV, GIF, M4A, MP3 and WAV.

02

Codecs the device can really do

H.264 everywhere; HEVC/H.265 where the hardware supports it. The app asks the platform what it can encode and hides what it can't, rather than failing halfway through.

03

Impossible combinations can't be picked

Change the format and the codec choices follow it automatically — you can't ask for a combination the format doesn't allow, so a job never dies at the last frame.

04

Nothing leaves the device

No account, no upload, no server. Turn the radios off and it still converts.
