Compress.

Three ways to ask for smaller.

3 modesTarget size in MBLive estimate

“Make it smaller” means different things on different days. Sometimes you want it to still look good; sometimes you know the bitrate you want; sometimes the answer is simply “under 25 MB, because that's what the email will take.” Convert gives you all three as first-class modes rather than one slider that pretends to be all of them.

Target size is the interesting one. Tell it 25 MB and Convert works backwards — duration, audio allowance, container overhead — to the video bitrate that lands there, then encodes at a constant rate to hold it. Before you start, the estimate line shows the size you should expect and the percentage saved; when it finishes, the result screen shows before and after.

00:01:19:00How it runs

01

Quality tier

Low, Medium, High, Very High — a sensible bitrate for the resolution, when you don't want to think in numbers.

02

Explicit bitrate

Set the video bitrate in Mbps yourself when you already know what the destination wants.

03

Target file size

Name a size in megabytes; the bitrate is solved for you and shown with the percentage you'll save.

04

An estimate you can trust

The estimated output size, the saving, and a rough on-device time appear before you tap Convert — not after.
