Speed.

Quarter speed to quadruple.

Slow-moTimelapseFree

Slowing a clip down is how you show what actually happened; speeding it up is how you make twenty minutes of something watchable. Both are a speed multiplier applied during the encode, which is why they live here and not in an editor.

Convert offers six steps — 0.25×, 0.5×, 1×, 1.5×, 2× and 4× — and names what you're doing as you pick: slow motion below normal speed, timelapse above it. The change is baked into the output file, so whatever plays it afterwards just sees an ordinary clip at a new length.

00:04:18:12How it runs

01

Six steps, 0.25× to 4×

0.25×, 0.5×, 1×, 1.5×, 2× and 4× — the useful multiples rather than a slider you have to nudge onto a round number.

02

Baked into the file

The output is an ordinary video at its new duration — no player-specific speed metadata to be ignored.

03

Stacks with the rest

Combine with trim, crop and a resolution change in the same pass; the estimate updates as you go.
